I wish I could write a touching story about growing up in the kitchen and helping my mother create delicious family meals but that would be a lie. I avoided the kitchen the majority of my life…I just had no interest in home cooked meals.

My love for food and recipe developing started in 2012 when I came across a book that taught me how to scramble eggs. I went from a person who cooked the eggs too long and made them taste like cardboard to a person who still cooks the eggs too long and they still taste like cardboard.

“A girl should be two things: who and what she wants,” according to Coco Chanel. That said, who and what I am is Simone, The Social Nubian. As a Life & Style Blogger, I want to embrace my love of life, fashion, and expertise with relationships.

Before becoming a Relationship and Family Therapist, I was making clothes and undergarments for my Cabbage Patch and Punky Brewster dolls, as a child. Fashion was the gateway to creating a unique style, that I would eventually share with my friends and sell to the public.

I taught myself how to cook? Didn't even knew how to boil water when I got married. So I believe, If I can do it, anyone can. I enjoy
cooking food from around the world. I am a self taught cook. I was so tired of eating the same food, so I just venture out of my comfort zone. If I cook something from another country and it taste good, I share it, if it taste like crap, I don't.
